SODA, COKE or POP--Which one for you?

I thought it would be fun to share this map and ask you what term you use for your fizzy bubbly soft drink. Please comment and tell me what part of the country you are from too. I want to see if you are an oddball or if you are part of the crowd in your region. lol

    I'm from Northern Illinois and we say Pop. It's so funny how it can vary by region. It's also strange how there are small pockets of differences in almost every state. Perhaps from people moving from other places or ethnic differences? I found this map to be very interesting. Thanks for posting this!

    I'm originally from Hawaii and we call it soda. I lived in Boston for 7 years...and if you wanted a soda you had to ask for something specific...like Coke or Sprite because if you asked for soda they would give you seltzer water. It drove me nuts when we were stationed in North Dakota to hear it called "pop" :)

    I live in an area of Upstate New York where they say 'soda'. But I grew up in Georgia where everything is 'Coke', so I am definitely an oddball in my area. Whenever I visit my family in the midwest (they all say 'pop') I drive them crazy. Fun map!

    It's soda here (MA), although people usually refer to something by it's specific name. I hadn't heard of it called "Coke" as generic term - interesting. I think "Pop" is more fun than "Soda." At any rate, I drink tea. : )

    I'm from Nashville, TN...I say Coke. Can't help it. It's all coke...as in what kind of coke do you want? Sprite Coke, Orange Coke, Dr. Pepper Coke. :P

    Now I live in Michigan and it's all Pop around here and it makes me giggle every time I hear "pop". Which is daily :)
